CrossFit Generation is excited to announce the installment of our new "2nd Strength" program starting Monday, July 9th. This program is for any CFG athlete who want to focus more on strength training and bypass the "WOD" for the day. "2nd Strength" will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays following the MEBB lift of the day. The program will not be at all class times because 2 coaches must be present during this program. The schedule for the "2nd Strength" will be as follows:
Mondays- 7am, 4pm
Wednesdays- 5pm, 6pm
Fridays- 12pm
The "2nd Strength" lifts will be the lifts that are coming up in the next MEBB cycle. For example, the next cycle of the MEBB lifts will include Power Cleans, Back Squats, and Shoulder Presses. The "2nd Strength" lifts for that cycle will be Power Snatch, Front Squat, and Push Press. The "2nd Strength" lifts will be listed in the "Daily Training" along with the percentages to follow. It will not be a max, but rather additional strength and volume work for the upcoming lifts.
You do not have to sign up for this program. After the MEBB lift is complete at the specific class time, the class will divide up with the athletes wanting to do the "2nd Strength" of the day staying in the strength room and the athletes wanting to do the "WOD" in the CrossFit room.
I know some of you are asking to yourself "What if I want to do the "2nd Strength" and it is not being offered at the class time I come?" The answer quite simply is that this is a brand new program at CFG, which will require 2 coaches. We are testing out the waters with it and will add times as needed along the way. If possible, maybe you could find a way to rearrange your schedule if it is something you really want to do. If not, the program has potential to expand in the future. There will be no exceptions made at class times that do not offer the "2nd Strength". You will need to participate in the "WOD" that day.
We are excited to continually grow our programs offered at CFG. Your coaches realize that every athlete has different goals and desires with their training. The "2nd Strength" program will provide the desire to strength train as a primary goal.
