To My CFG Coaches & Peeps,
In February of 2012, I walked into CrossFit Generation nervous, scared and out of shape. I got winded just thinking about running. I watched the "adult" class from Jocelyn's room thinking, "There's no way in hell I'll ever be able to do any of that." Jocelyn and Lauren prepared me well in on-ramp, and before I knew it I was in Barry's class kicking some butt.
I am still not the strongest lifter or the fastest runner, but joining CFG was one of the best things I did in my life. I still have a ways to go, but I've never been stronger and I've never been happier with myself. I'm one of those that's tried every diet under the sun, avoiding working out at all costs. CFG made me realize that working out IS fun and that I CAN do it. I CAN run. I CAN lift. And I will LOVE every second of it (well except maybe for the burpees!). I've been able to do things that I never thought I could do before like, run my first 5K at the Warrior Dash, push a freezer up a basement, lift my husband and run the Ocean City boardwalk 5 days in a row. My back aches have gone away, my wrists don't feel carpel tunnel anymore, and my asthma is the best it's ever been in years.
I'm very sad to say that only after 5 months at CFG, I will be moving to Pittsburgh for a job. I will miss everyone there. You guys are the best peeps to ever work out with. All of you have pushed me to do more and to do better so thank you!
And of course, a giant THANK YOU to all the great coaches at CFG! Thank you Barry, Jocelyn, Lauren and Vince for pushing me every time I walked through those doors and for showing me that I CAN do it. Thank you for spending time with me when my form wasn't quite right or for cheering me on when I didn't think I could run that last 400m. You are all the best coaches anyone could ever ask for.
I'll be continuing my CrossFit journey in Pittsburgh, but I know it won't be the same. Again, I will miss you all tremendously and thank you so much for everything. I'll try to drop-in when I'm visiting. Keep in touch.
Thanks again,
Michelle
